Saturday is Tulsa's 122nd birthday. On Jan. 18, 1898, Tulsa was incorporated. Attorney Harry Campbell wrote the incorporation papers by hand with his law partner Lewis M. Poe. Attorney Edward Calkins served as the city's first mayor.
